Our Field Day will be at school this year with a Texas Theme on Tuesday, May 25th. More details will be posted soon.
In Gardening we will be planting a watermelon and canteloupe plant into the Vegetable Garden. We will also plant lavender in the Butterfly Garden.
In Music we will be using instruments to the songs "New River Train" and "Working on the Railroad". We will also play "Shaking Hands" with the parachute.
We will be reading about the San Jacinto Monument, which marks the site of the final battle of the Texas Revolution. We will learn about how the city of Austin is named in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the father of Texas. The students will also learn that the State Vegetable is the sweet onion and the State Pepper is the jalapeno.
In Math some of the students will be tracing and counting the number 18. Other students will be practicing counting coins.
