April 20-23
In Science the children will make a sculpture of a tubeworm to take home.
In History we will read The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush. We will sketch the Indian Paintbrush this week for our Nature Journals. The children will learn about the invention of the telegraph this week.
We are planning a field trip to The Grapevine Sea Life Aquarium on May 14. We will leave the school at 9:15. Admission is $7.00 for children and $10.00 for adults. It will last from 10:30 to 12:00, and we are planning to eat at the Food Court afterward.
April 13-16
The children will sketch the roses at the front of the school for their Nature Journals. We plant peppers into the garden this week.
In History we will read about the State Capitol and the Alamo this week.
In Bible we will read “Manna, Quail and Water,” “God’s Rules,” and “Twelve Spies” in The Beginner’s Bible.

We will read about Sea Anemones and Corals this week. We will harvest beets and observe the changes in the Butterfly Garden. The children will sketch a Pincushion and Texas Betany this week.
We will be narrating Chapter 7 in The Wind and the Willows and illustrating pictures.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can purchase you child’s artwork from Kim Walker at the front desk.
March 30-April 2
We will be performing at Barnes and Noble at 4:30 today. You may purchase their art work at the fundraiser tonight.
The children will be taking home their own Resurrection sticker scene.
We read about the jellyfish this week. The children enjoyed taking turns watering the bluebonnet in the garden this week.
The children have had fun using the Resurrection magnets in Magnet Center this week.
March 23-26
The children have been taking turns matching the different Community Helpers in centers this week.
We will be making police cars and a jelly bean prayer cross this week.
The children will sketch a bluebonnet for their Nature Journals.
We will be learning about Police officers and bakers this week. The children will take turns making cupcakes in Language Center. We will do a baking activity to eat next week.
We will have our party and Easter hunt on Wednesday, April 1. Please bring 12 candy or toy filled plastic eggs for our hunt. Be sure and bring an Easter basket for the hunt.
March 9-12
In History we will read about Nurses and watch a movie about Florence Nightingale.
We will begin reading Chapter 5 in The Wind in the Willows.
In Science we will read about Echinoderms in Exploring Creation.
We will read “God Will Make Everything Happy” from The Bible In Pictures.
March 2-5
In Science we will be labeling the parts of an octopus for our portfolios.
The children will make their own Five Senses sticker activity sheets.
In Bible we will practice singing spirituals for the Barnes and Noble performance.
We will be practicing “The Snowflake” by Walter de la Mare for Barnes and Noble.
The Barnes and Noble event has been cancelled because we might have icy roads. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
