In Science/Nature Study we will be learning about leaves and how they come in many different sizes and shapes. We will read about the characteristics of simple leaves, compound leaves, and needles. We will also go outside and collect leaves to press for our Nature Journals.
In Social Studies we will be learning about Communities and Neighborhoods. The students will be making their own mini-book about what’s in a neighborhood. We will also begin learning about the different kinds of Community Helpers and sort them by categories.
In Bible we will be reading about how God created the heavens and the earth. The students will be making their own In the Beginning book.
In Phonics some of the students will be learning and reviewing words with long “a” silent e. They will be practicing word families “ack” and “ake”.
Other students will be reading and reviewing short “a” words. We will also be working on short and long vowel words that rhyme such as “cake” and “bake” or “fox” and “box”.
