We will continue to learn about the Rainforest. The children had fun learning about the Emergent Layer of the Rainforest and painting their favorite animal. This week we will learn about the animals that live in the Canopy Layer of the Rainforest. We will read about a Sloth and how it hangs from the trees.
In Art the children will be making their own Valentine soaps and Door Knob Hangers to take home.
In Bible we will read about Friends. We will also make Valentines Cards for our friends.
Some of the students will be practicing how to write a lowercase"d" this week. We will also practice words that begin and end with the letter "d". Other students will be reviewing plural -s and -es. They will learn how to change "y" to "i" and add -es such as "candies". We will also learn when to add -ed and -ing.
Our Valentine Party will be this Thursday, Feb. 11. The children will be decorating their own valentines cards on party day. We will also play several games and sing songs such as A-Tisket, A-Tasket and "The More We Get Together".
Please send Valentines to exchange at our party on Thursday. Be sure to sign-up in the hall to bring something for our Valentine Party.
