In Social Studies this week we will be celebrating Chinese New Year and learning about their customs. We will be painting and decorating dragons and having a parade with a large dragon down the hall. We'll sample traditional food and play with little slide drums at our celebration on Thursday.
In Phonics we will be practicing words that begin with the letter "c". We will read Cathy Cook. Some of the students will be reviewing verbs and using am, are, is, has, have, does, and do. They will also begin learning what an adjective is.
We will be learning and listening to the words for the Y-E-L-L-O-W and W-H-I-T-E songs on the CD. Students will make their own songbooks to practice at home.
Please be sure to bring a heavy jacket for playground each day since the weather has been chilly. Be sure to remind your child to drop their snack in the basket each morning by the front of the classroom.
Open House is this Friday at 7:00. You will have the opportunity to look at your child's portfolio of work as well as listen to Dr. Flint speak about the Summer Program and information about Fall enrollment. Please let me know if you will be attending Open House.
