Nov. 30-Dec. 3

In Music we will do Creative Movement to the "New Zoo Review" and play instruments to "I'm a little Snowflake".
In Bible we will paint the nativity to display in the hallway. We will also read about how the angels tell about Jesus' birth. We will also read about the shepherds visit to see baby Jesus.
In Social Studies we will be learning the different traditions of Christmas in Germany. We will watercolor and decorate a gingerbread house and learn about the advent calendar. Students will make their own gingerbread man puppet. We will read about how the people in Germany decorate their Christmas tree with apples, nuts, candy and glass ornaments.
In Science we will be learning about the different animals that live in the zoo. The children will color their own Zoo Cats book about lions, cheetahs, leopards, and jaguars.
We are collecting Christmas toys, clothes and non-perishable food items for a family that we have volunteered to help from Mission Arlington. The information about the children is posted in the hallway. Please drop off any items to Mrs. Hague by next Wednesday. The items will be given to Mission Arlington on Thursday, December 9.
In Phonics some of the students will be learning words that begin with letter "r". We will practice tracing and writing letter "r" as well as cutting and pasting pictures that begin with letter "r". Some of the students will be learning the sounds "ch" and "sh". Please practice these sounds at home.
Other students will be learning words that end with "mp" as in jump and "nd" as in hand.
