May 18

We will be practicing words that end with the letter “x”. We are almost finished with our journals. Please be reviewing words such as fox, box, mix, fix, six, and wax.
In Nature Study/Gardening we observed our tomato plants. We will also be planting several kinds of flowers in our Perennial Garden. The children will be watching the birds eat out of the bird feeders we put up by our Atrium.
In Bible we will be talking about self-control this week. We will practice keeping our hands to ourselves and not on our peers. We will also talk about how it is using self-control when you choose to make a good choice.
Field Day is Tuesday, May 26 at Veteran’s Park. Parents are encouraged to attend. Please bring your lawn chairs to set up at our group’s spot (there will be a blanket for the kids). A large umbrella is also a good idea in case of rain. There will be no school that day. We will meet at the park at 9:30. If you cannot attend please make arrangements with Mrs. Hague by this Thursday.
Our End of Year Party will be on May 21 at Putt Putt Golf. There will be as sign-up sheet in the hall. Please let us know if you will be able to go with us. Bring $6 by Wednesday for golf, pizza, and tokens. There will be no school Memorial Day (Monday, May 25). Our last day of school is Thursday, May 28. Summer School is June 15 thru July 23. We are planning lots of Summer crafts and fun learning activities!

No education seems to be worth the name which has not made children at home in the world of books, and so related them, mind to mind, with thinkers who have dealt with knowledge. — Charlotte Mason
