April 12-15

In Science, the children will be making their own helicopters this week. We will read about helicopters and gliders. We will also learn about the Wright brothers.
Most of the children have learned to recite the first stanz of "Where Go The Boats" by Robert Louis Stevenson. We will begin learning the second stanza of the poem. Please be practicing this poem at home. A copy of the poem was sent home last week.
We will be reading about how God sends Abraham to a New Land. We will read the story in circle and the children will create their own book.
In Music we will be pretending to ride in an airplane and practice rhythms with instruments to "Riding in an Airplane" by Raffi.
In Creative Movement the children will pretend to glide like an airplane to "Skyward" by Greg and Steve. We will also learn the song, "In My Garden" with motions.
We will be going to see "The Little Mermaid" at Will Rogers Coliseum this Tuesday, April 13. You can meet at the Coliseum in Fort Worth at 9:45. The play starts at 10:00 and will last 70 minutes. We will be going back to school after the play to eat lunch.

No education seems to be worth the name which has not made children at home in the world of books, and so related them, mind to mind, with thinkers who have dealt with knowledge. — Charlotte Mason
