January 17-19

In Phonics/Spelling some of the students will be learning words with soft and hard c and g. We will also read words during circle time that have the long u sound.
In Writing some of the children will be practicing cursive letters Cc, Dd, and Ee. Please practice tracing and writing cursive lowercase a, b, and c at home.
In Social Studies we will be reading and narrating “Ulysses and the Cyclops” and painting a picture of the Cyclops. We will also read about the school days in Greece and learn about the Greek Alphabet. The children will be writing their own names using the Greek Alphabet.
In Bible we will read “Joshua’s Men are Helped by a Lady” (Joshua 2: 1-15) and “God Makes the River Stop Flowing (Joshua 3: 13-17).
In Music the children will use their snowflake wands they made with Creative Movement as we move to “Douglas Mountain” by Raffi.
