January 9-12

In Social Studies we will be reviewing Egypt on a map and identifying Greece. The children will narrate about the Ancient Greeks and paint a picture of a horse and chariot.
In Language/Writing some of the students will begin learning how to write cursive letters. We will be practicing tracing letter a and b this week. Other students will be practicing writing D’Nealian letters.
In Reading the children have been doing a great job with their leveled readers and sight words. Please be sure to practice reading with your child each week.
In Science we will observe a type of aluminum boron silicate that forms in igneous and metamorphic rocks. Tourmaline can come in a variety of colors due to any change in its composition.
School will be closed next Monday, January 16th for Martin Luther King Day.
