September 26-29

This week we will be talking about statements and how it is a sentence that tells or states something.
In Music we will be practicing rhythms with sticks and dance with shakers to Amarain" by Amr Diab. The children will be listening to the beat of this Egyptian song.
The children will be planting beet seeds in our garden. We will also collect and observe Coneflower seed pods.
In Social Studies we will be learning about how the Egyptian girls and boys were taught to read and write. The children in Egypt read advice on how to succeed and live a moral life from the Book of Instruction. There were no textbooks. The children will learn how to make Berry Ink. The ancient Egyptians used bright colored minerals to make ink, but we will use blackberries to make our homemade ink.
Please keep a change of clothes in yur child's backpack in case of a spill or accident.
