We will begin learning about China as we get ready to celebrate Chinese New Year. We will be having a Chinese Feast for Grandparents Day. There will be a sign-up sheet in the hall with items for the feast. Please sign up to bring 1 entree for 15 children and grandparents.
We are planning on celebrating Chinese New Year early this year so that we can share the celebration with our grandparents on Grandparents Day (Thursday, January 27th).
The children will be working on writing and illustrating the different kinds of weather to display in the hall. Students have also been painting and matching daytimes and nighttime pictures into the correct categories.
Some of the students will begin learning about adjectives. This week we will begin reading about the Five Senses and relate it to learning adjectives. We will talk about how our sense of smell and how sweet, sour, bitter, etc. are all examples of adjectives. Some of the students will be practicing writing lowercase and uppercase letters on lines. Other students will be practicing tracintg and writing cursive Dd and Ee on lines.
