In Science we will be reading about all the animals that live on the Floor of the Rainforest. They will paint their own Anaconda. All of the animals and puzzle pieces they have been working on will be put together into a Rainforest pocket book.
We will be planting strawberries in the garden and creating texture collages to display in the hall.
In Social Studies we will be reading about how Betsy Ross sewed the flag of the United States. We'll be comparing the Texas flag to the United States flag. We will read F is for Flag and talk about how the United States flag has 13 stripes and 50 stars. The children will learn a song called, "Fifty Stars Are On Our Flag".
The children will be learning the different coin songs to help them remember the names of the coins. We will be practicing the Quarter song this week. A song sheet witht the words will be sent home this week.
Some of the students will be working on ending consonants. They will be reviewing the vowel digraphs "ai" and "ay". We will also be reviewing verbs and adjectives.
Other students will be working on reading short vowel stories and words that begin with the letter "w".
