This week we will be studying about different kinds of ducks. We will be painting the “Mallard” by Audubon. We will also read about the Common Loon from Minnesota.
In Phonics, we will be reviewing words that start with the letter “c”. The children will begin letter “l” in their Explode the Code workbook. We will begin practicing “Little Stories” by Gillingham and Stillman. This week we will practice reading Fat Sam.
In Bible we will be talking about what it means to be peaceful and how God wants us to be content or happy with what we have.
The children will be learning about Minnesota and adding it to their United States map. We will read about the Superior National Forest.
In Gardening we’re planning to plant and paint petunias and harvest our beets. We will also read Our Two Gardens.
On Tuesday, March 31 we would like to visit the duck pond at Veteran's Park after school. We will bring bread (you may bring something extra to feed the ducks if you like). Meet us at the duck pond immediately after picking up your child (the duck pond is adjacent to the playground). We hope that you can come (we would like to take pictures to include in their nature journal).

No education seems to be worth the name which has not made children at home in the world of books, and so related them, mind to mind, with thinkers who have dealt with knowledge. — Charlotte Mason
